After 19.00 h, no more raw food should be consumed if possible: salads are not as well digested at this time of the day, they remain longer in the stomach – rot by forming fusel alcohols and cause flatulence. The same applies, incidentally, to fruit in general AFTER the meals. It is much better to eat fruit before the meals and use its enzymes for the subsequent digestion of protein. For the evening, however, the better alternative is steamed or sautéed vegetables - in combination with a creamy dip, some cheese, ham or meat / fish / poultry.

Ingredients for 1 person:

  • 8 spears green asparagus
  • 4 slices breakfast bacon, cut in thin slices
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 10 g butter
  • lemon
  • sea salt
  • pepper

Preparation:

  1. Wash the asparagus and break off the wood-like ends. Cook the asparagus in salty water for 4 to 5 minutes, rinse it under cold water and then let it dry.
  2. Cut the slices of bacon lengthwise in two and then wrap each spear in a slice in such a way that only the spear’s end and tip are visible.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large pan and fry the asparagus spears in it for roughly 4 minutes, turning them over regularly, until the bacon is slightly crisp.
  4. Melt some butter and mix it with freshly pressed lemon juice, then trickle it over the asparagus spears - and serve at once. We wish you a hearty appetite!
